your deceased loved one near you or to have a constant reminder of them. However, if
you’ve decided to preserve their cremains in an urn at home, it’s important to know how to
properly care for their memorial. Following is a quick guide for the best ways to take care of
memorial urns.

Metal
Store your metal urn in a dry, safe space away from direct sunlight. Sun exposure can warp
metal materials over time.

Avoid using a damp cloth for cleaning the urn, since water and other liquids may cause the
urn to rust. Gently wipe the exterior surface with a dry cotton cloth to remove dirt and dust. Don’t use harsh, abrasive chemicals to clean the metal urn as it will result in corrosion.

Abrasive, substances will reduce the shine of the urn and cause scratches.

Wood
Store your wooden urn away from direct sunlight as overexposure to the sun can cause the wood tone to fade., and never use water or harsh chemical products, as they can damage the wood. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe down the outside of the wooden urn every two weeks or so. It will help you clean the dust buildup from the urn without damaging the surface.
To maintain and restore the shine of wooden memorial urns, polish them every few months
or twice a year.
Since wood can be quite porous, you should not use water to clean the urn as it can easily
sink into the grains and cause irreparable damage to your pristine wooden urn.

Marble
Marble Urns are exceptionally fragile and can also weigh a lot,so keep them away from foot
traffic. Place it on a sturdy shelf high enough to prevent small children and pets from
accidentally dropping it.

Moreover keep them away from the edge of any surface you place it on to prevent it from falling and cracking or shattering.
The urn should be consistently cleaned so that dust particles don’t come to rest on the urn.

Use a soft dry cloth to carefully wipe away the dust from the surface, or a slightly damp one,
make sure to thoroughly dry the urn after cleaning it.
